I never quite know what to put here. I feel odd ranting about myself but I think of all the times I see a beautiful picture in this virtual community and wish there was more to start a conversation with, so here goes:

I’ve been accused of being a bit eccentric, but I think that may come from some amazing opportunities that I’ve been blessed with, or at least some unorthodox life choices. I don’t take myself too seriously, though there are many things I feel strong about influencing and working towards. I really resonate with strong yet fun loving individuals and a multi-cultural global perspective is a big plus. I’d much prefer to talk about ideas and visions than pop culture. I’d prefer to be outside in the mountains or on a river than inside, though I do have some favorite cities and towns. I much prefer small, family-run ethnic restaurants than chain ones and farmers markets to Safeways. If you think we might connect well, or are at least curious, please write!

Exploration has always been a calling for me. I’m enchanted by new frontiers in science, as well as different cultures, the physical frontiers of outer space and the more remote places of our planet. I’ve been working with NASA for a while now – both with NASAs new Constellation project as well as my own climate change research in the Arctic (laser radar in Greenland and airborne remote sensing in Northern Canada). I love to alpine ski, kite ski, kayak, and soar. I don’t claim to be great ant any of these; I just enjoy them a lot. I don’t really understand tobacco. Music makes me really happy. I’m a huge proponent of non-violence, yet I love to play rugby. Buddhists and Pagans are cool, but I respect people finding their own path the most.

So if you’ve made it this far, let me know what makes you tick, or tell me some unique story about yourself. I feel blessed with some truly amazing friends yet there are times I feel need for a greater sense of community, more of a shared purpose, perhaps an amazing partner, or some kindred souls to continue the journey with.

Just looking for people to share the journey with, so just say ‘hi’! I’d really like to build some community here. Sometimes it seems we get so wrapped up in the things we do that we don't spend enough time on this.

It would be nice to meet some kind people with a real love for life, curious people, people who challenge themselves yet don’t take themselves too seriously, people who create beauty in what they do, people with a global conscience, dreams, and a desire to help leave our planet better than we found it.
